Wallowing Here And There

I suck at being part of a group.  I tried one when Owen was a baby, a large forum for special needs families.  I tried, but hated editing myself so as not to offend the masses, so I quit and started the blog.  I don't care who I offend here.

When I saw that the SITS girls were bunching bloggers up into Tribes, and there was a
Tribe for special needs kids; The Spring Chickens, and Lynn was a member, I joined.  I never planned on being an active member until Lynn asked me to guest post on her blog.  I guess the whole Tribe is doing it.  She even gave me full f-bomb privileges.

I thought I'd write something that would illustrate who I am as a special needs Mommy.  Introduce myself to the group.  Or maybe introduce Owen.  I never found the time this week to come up with something new.

So I gave Lynn a post I wrote for Owen's sixth birthday.   It is sappy as hell, but it helps me to remember who he is.  Right now he is on the cusp of big changes, emotional, social, academic.  It is not going to be easy.  But I like change, I'm good at it.  I have to be.

So nothing really new here folks.

Go see me over at Lynn's place.

But if you care to stay for just a minute, I'm still feeling a bit wallowy (is too a word) about the old farm.

Sprite's Keeper is spinning up collages this week.

No words.  Just some of my favorite pics of the old place.

  1. Sigh is right, what a place.

I'm so glad to see the post you shared, I tried to find this one a few months ago when an acquaintance had a down's syndrome baby with heart problems (he pulled through, yay Gus!) and couldn't find it. Now I can direct them to it.

  23. I grew up not far from there - Montreal - and always dreamed of living in Vt. These poignant pictures (the last one did me in) pull me that much closer to home.
